I just got back from the theater, where I saw Julie & Julia.  Who’da thunk, a movie about blogging?  And food?  It’s a sign!  To the Internet we go!

Craft update:

I ordered some yarn.  Enough to finish my won’t-it-be-gorgeous-when-it’s-done sweater (1 skein), and a couple skeins of stripey yarn so Eileen can have the fingerless gloves she asked for, oh, 6 months ago?  Wait – etsy doesn’t lie – it was 8 months ago.  It should be here next week, and I will be able to complete those three things pretty quickly.  I have an idea floating around in my head for the next Meme Gift, too.  I should get on that.

Food update:

I made the Clementine Cake again last week, after a bag full of clementines showed up at work (thanks, Chris!)  Turned out great!  I am enjoying the leftovers a little bit each day, stretching the happiness as long as I can.  This week also marks the last episode in our search for The Best Burger in Las Vegas.  We’re going to LBS at Red Rock for dinner Friday, and then catching District 9 afterwards.  While I am very much looking forward to delicious burgers, I have to say I’m happy this quest will be over.  I went from eating almost no meat, to eating fancy hamburgers once a week.  My stomach is tired.

Miscellany:

I joined a gym!  After going to the gym at my apartment complex a couple of times, my motivation left me.  It’s just a sad place to be, all tiny and run-down and without people.  The folks at work suggested Las Vegas Athletic Club, and I think it was a good choice.  They have late classes I can go to after work, spankin’ new weight machines, a ladies’ only gym, pool, trainers, you name it!  After a month of getting back in to the swing of things, I’ll be ready just in time for ballet to start up again!  Nevada Ballet’s fall program begins at the end of August.  I am really looking forward to seeing what they’ve got.

There you have it – another outpouring of jibber jabber, when posting more frequently would have made this much more manageable.  The end.

(p.s.  The movie was charming – most girls I know should definitely see it.  Not really a boy movie, but you probably knew that already)
